In the 1960s, far from civilization and regular roads, stripped down desert bikes based on Triumph twins and fitted with high level exhausts, dirt bike tires and suspension were being used for hard recreational fun and competition on rough terrain. The Scrambler takes its inspiration from these very bikes. They were highly competitive and most famously used by Hollywood superstar Steve McQueen for pleasure and competition. We built the Scrambler to evoke that spirit of freedom and escape, carefree times when all you needed was a bike and somewhere to ride.
For the Scrambler, we retuned the 865cc eight-valve engine to give you more torque at very low revs. It peaks at a strong 68Nm at 4750rpm, but keeps producing useful thrust must lower than that, with 90 percent of its torque on tap from as low as 2500rpm. Max power output is 59PS, enough to you to get up to all kinds of fun.
Powered by a special version of our parallel twin-cylinder Bonneville engine, the Scrambler is air-cooled and styled like the 1960s originals yet quietly bristling with 21st century technology to ensure that it is efficient, durable, and easy to ride. The Scrambler has a voice of its own thanks to its free-flowing exhaust and 270 degree firing order.

Fuel economy ranges from 46-60mpg, depending on your driving conditions, and the fuel tank holds 4.2 gallons of gas. Available in Gloss Black ($9,400), Matte Pacific Blue ($9,650), and two-tone Lunar Silver and Diablo Red ($9,900).
